  • When the CLEAN / DESCALE light is steady on. It is time to descale your espresso maker

    NOTE: Ensure that the power cord, power plug, or appliance is not immersed in water or any liquid. The water tank should never be removed or completely emptied when you start a cleaning cycle.
  • Ensure tank is empty and drip tray also when you remove the water filter
  • Dissolve one Breville Descaling powder sachet ( recommended by Breville) into 34 fl. oz (1L) of water then fill the plain water in a tank.
  • 3. Press and hold the 2-CUP button and then press and hold the POWER button to start descaling and simultaneously enter to the Descale mode.  Descaling begins by heating the unit, and the POWER button will continuously flash throughout the process. Breville machine will indicate it is ready for descaling. When the POWER button, 1 CUP button, CLEAN/DESCALE indicator and HOT WATER/ STEAM indicator are all illuminated by steady on position 

   Descaling the coffee component

  •  Press the 1-CUP button to start the descaling for the coffee component of the machine.
    Descaling coffee components takes approximately 25 seconds to complete the process.
    The 1 CUP button should flash continuously and it remain constant once the descaling process has finished. To terminate the descaling within 25 seconds, press the 1 CUP button again.
    Descale the Steam and hot water components
  • You need approximately 13 seconds to descale steam and 8 seconds to descale hot water. Descaling can be stopped by turning the steam dial to the STANDBY position.
  • By turning the steam dial RIGHT towards the icon, describe the Steam component.
  •  The steam dial should be turned to the LEFT towards the icon to descale the hot water component.

    Repeat processes to complete descaling
  •  The above procedures need to be repeated once more to achieve complete descaling. About half (17 fl. oz. / 0.5L) of the descale solution should be left in the water tank after the above procedures. 

Complete the descaling process by effectively removing the solution in the tank and repeat these steps 4 to 6 times.

Descaling Solution Rinse

  • After descale your machine, remove the water tank and rinse cycle thoroughly then refill with cold and fresh water to the maximum level (68 fl. oz / 2L) . To further clean the machine from all mineral deposits of the cleaning solution. Repeat these  4-6 steps thoroughly
  • Press ‘POWER’ button to quit the descaling process. It will be indicated by the LED lights switching off.

    The machine is ready to work again 

Note: If no action is taken, machine automatically turns off after five minutes. Please return to step 3 when you want to resume descaling again.
